Our Story
Taylorville Music Lessons started with one drum teacher and a big dream: to give this town a place where anyone—kid, adult, or total beginner—could come learn an instrument and actually have fun doing it.
Mike, our founder, has been teaching for over 30 years. When he saw how many people wanted to learn music but didn’t have a local option that felt personal, welcoming, or effective… he decided to build one himself.
Fast forward to now: we’ve got 12 awesome instructors, lessons for just about every instrument you can think of, and a teaching method that helps students play along with real music from their very first visit.
We keep things simple, fun, and results-driven—because learning music shouldn’t feel like homework.
